Currently Sanakalpa Institute's traditional amazonian medicine programs are offered exclusively through our collaboration with Taita Juan Agreda Bautista Chindoy. Taita Juan is from the Sibundoy Valley of the Alto Putumayo of Colombia and has been working as a traditional doctor in his community for over 20 years. Taita is a name of respect that is given exclusively to members of the community that have developed a certain mastery of medicinal plants and particularly of the application of yaje or ayahuasca. Trained under his father, a reknowned traditional healer in his own right, Taita Juan has literally grown up surrounded by the in depth knowledge of how to utilize medicinal plants for comprehensive physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.
